White Queso Dip {{ Mexican Restaurant Knockoff }}

I have been trying to duplicate this recipe for quite some time without success. Finally I realized, the trick is in the cheese. Warning- This has to be made with white American cheese. If not it will not taste like Mexican restaurant queso. 

1 pound white American cheese, diced
1/2 cup milk, plus more for desired consistency
1 tablespoon margarine
1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons cumin
4 ounce can of diced jalapenos, optional
cayenne pepper, to taste

Step 1) Heat the cheese, milk and spices over low heat. Once the cheese begins melting, feel free to add more milk to reach your desired consistency. I ended up adding between 3/4 of a cup and a full cup.

Step 2) Throw the jalapenos in a food processor and give it a few whirls.

Step 3) Pour the melted dip into a serving dish, top with jalapenos and enjoy!

This was the perfect Sunday afternoon snack. Best enjoyed while your child is taking a nap and you may or may not still be in your pajamas.
