The Crab Shack

Mom and I had a girls day recently. Went shopping and had lunch and drinks at Joe's Crab Shack. They were running a promotion where they served several bar drinks in souvenir mason jars. My drink was on the left. Sweet Tea vodka! Delish! Mom's is the one on the right and it was some concoction of Southern Comfort and Bacardi Limon. We shared calamari for an appetizer and a steam pot for our entree. The steam pot had Dungeness crab, shrimp, corn, nasty sausage and potatoes. We requested more shrimp instead of that gross hunk of sausage.
See that nasty sausage on the right. Gag.
The bibs really made the experience.
Our server, also named Jessica.
And this seemed like an appropriate thing to do with our leftovers. We were thinking of bringing our cob and potatoes home to Chad, but decided that it was more of a slap in the face after sending him pictures of our cocktails and of the crab.
I would definitely go back to Joe's Crab Shack. Food was good and the service was as well!

  1. Grandpa and I took your brother Nick there one year for his Birthday. He took a little friend with him. Besides eating us out of housE and home he had to ride a broomstick pony all around the restaurant while we all sang Happy Birthday. Good old memories. He was mortified, you know how shy he used to be, BUT HE PUT ON HIS BIG BOY FACE AND DID IT.........

  2. I looooove Joe's Crab Shack! It is pretty hilarious when you take someone there on their birthday because of the ridiculous things they make them sister had to skip around the place w/ fairy wings on, carrying a wand and singing happy birthday to herself while the entire restaurant watched. Ha ha! Anyway, I love the one in Fairview Heights, but I have to say that the crab there does NOT compare to the one we ate at in Orlando...the seafood there was A-MAZ-ING! I can only assume it's because they are so close to the ocean. lol
